Do you need an MSHA Approved Part 48 Training Plan?

Generally you do not. MSHA allows you to train under our Cooperative training plan. There are only two instances where you would need your own Part 48 training plan.

1. Your company is providing task training on mine property.
2. You have a Part 48 certification but are going to work on a Part 46 mine site. 

Part 48 training plans can be obtained by filling out a form at the MSHA.gov website.
